Rally for Dad: Overcoming Paralysis Together

Story

Our family encountered the unthinkable on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, when our dad was in an accident while camping. He is now paralyzed from the chest down. There are many challenges in front of us including getting him to a rehabilitation facility in Chicago, family traveling to the facility to receive training on his care, and modifications to our parents home so that he may be the most comfortable and independent as he is able.

If you know our dad, you know he never meets someone who doesn’t instantly become a friend, and he is always putting smiles on the faces of anyone nearby. He is truly our hero, and it’s our turn to help him out like he has for all of us. After 31 years in the service sacrificing for our country and decades of helping people become homeowners we want to give back to him and let him know just how loved and supported he is. Even paralyzed in the hospital his goal each day has been to make each person that enters his hospital room to smile and he has of course succeeded in doing so.
